Stretched

This beautiful beach is known for its safe swimming waters, making it ideal for families with small children or for those that are wary around the ocean. It is no small feat to have achieved Blue Flag status, and Umhlanga Rocks is proud of carrying this esteemed title. This is only awarded to beaches that are clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing, and actively promote environmental responsibility and education. This is one of only seven Blue Flag beaches in the province. Although relatively quiet, Umhlanga Beach is still popular amongst tourists, who love to stroll the long stretches (both sandy and paved).

The award winning “21st century”, Umhlanga Pier has the latest trends of lighting, that illuminates at night in an electric blue colour which reflects on the ocean. The architectural styling of the “whale-bone” theme was a very important element of the design, in keeping with the improvements of the promenade thus far. The Umhlanga Pier with all its extravagance is an artistic & structural masterpiece.
