Trip Report

New beginnings! We enjoyed our annual family holiday at BushTime in Mabula, a cherished tradition for this time of year.

Due to my recovery from surgery, I delegated many responsibilities, but the preparation went smoothly with everyone contributing. Aside from receiving another traffic fine (again!), we made good progress and arrived with plenty of time to check in, unpack, and settle in. Soon after, the rest of the family joined us, and we all settled in for yet another memorable week.

This trip marked our first stay in extended accommodation, which catered for 12 people, and we were all pleased with our choice. Renovations were being carried out on the other units, and we look forward to experiencing the upgrades to our unit during our next visit.

Although the extreme rainfall at Mabula significantly affected our safari drives, we still managed to spot a lot of game and enjoyed some wonderful wildlife sightings.

Due to work commitments, our kids couldn’t stay for the entire week, but we were grateful for the time we spent with them and our grandkids. This year was the first time that my wife and I were alone for the last couple of days, but we enjoyed the solitude and had some great wildlife sightings.

All too soon, it was time to pack our belongings and head home. After a quick lunch at Modjadji House, we were on our way and arrived safely back home.

Overall, it was another successful trip filled with precious memories.
