Jeffrey’s Bay Trip Report
Among the areas we would like to revisit was the Eastern Cape, in particular Jeffrey’s Bay and its surroundings. We managed a timeshare exchange with Sunshine Bay Beach Club Resort and embarked on our next adventure.
Our flight with FlySafair, departing from OR Tambo, had us landing promptly in Port Elizabeth, and after a short drive, we checked in at Sunshine Bay.
Our unit was perfectly appointed, and we could not fault anything. After unpacking, we visited one of the malls in JBay and stocked up on provisions for the week ahead.
First on our agenda to explore was Cape St Francis and the surrounding area. Our research had us visiting all the main attractions in the vicinity, with the Seal Point Lighthouse as the highlight.
The following outing took us to Oyster Bay. Again we were treated to memorable sights. The wind farm, with its wind turbines dispersed throughout the area, was the highlight of this outing.
The next day, we drove back to Port Elizabeth to visit the Cape Recife lighthouse. It was the highlight of the day’s outing. We took a leisurely drive along the coast back to Jeffrey’s Bay, enjoying all the sights on offer.
Jeffrey’s Bay and vicinity was next on our itinerary, where we visited the numerous attractions available. We had to split this outing over two days due to bad weather, but still most enjoyable.
Sadly, we had to take the road back to PE to catch our flight back to OR Tambo. Irrespective of the bad weather we experienced on occasion, we had a wonderful trip, and it was great to revisit the area we last saw as kids.
In the future, we will return to experience the attractions we missed on this trip. It is a recommended visit.
