Rietvlei Nature Reserve 2017: Photo Highlights – Part 1

With its long legs and elegant neck the Gray Heron strikes a regal pose as it stands motionless in shallow water, waiting to strike at unsuspecting fish. During the breeding season, these large herons join treetop breeding colonies where they showcase their exquisite breeding plumes in courtship displays. They work tirelessly to feed a nest full of chattering, insatiable chicks. The Gray Heron, found in Europe, Asia, and Africa, is one of three similar herons worldwide, together with the Great Blue Heron of North America and the Cocoi Heron of South America.

Jeffreys Bay 2023: Photo Highlights – Final

Sunshine Coast is an apt description of a coastal belt beset with countless little villages, each offering access to beaches, rivers, lagoons and hiking trails that stretch between the Tsitsikamma and East London in the Eastern Cape. The Sunshine Coast has had to do little to attract visitors as a destination. Its obviously glorious weather, the seaside resorts of Kenton-on-Sea and Port Alfred – considered the heart of this stretch of coastline – St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, Jeffreys Bay and their access to warm waters, water sports, eco-walks, friendly locals, sheltered coves, rock pools and nature reserves, makes its attraction blatantly obvious.
