Umhlanga’s beaches are packed with both locals and tourists in season (and often out of season as well, thanks to the temperate climate). This beautiful beach is known for its safe swimming waters, making it ideal for families with small children or for those that are wary around the ocean. It is no small feat to have achieved Blue Flag status, and Umhlanga Rocks is proud of carrying this esteemed title. This is only awarded to beaches that are clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing, and actively promote environmental responsibility and education. This is one of only seven Blue Flag beaches in the province.
