The value of reviews

During the last week, I realized how valuable reviews actually are: foremost to the general public, but also to the establishment under review.  Reviews that are truthful and honest provide a mechanism to potential visitors to gauge the service and quality of the establishment they are about to visit.  Online platforms make it easy to capture these reviews and can be done from most devices nowadays.

Establishments on the other hand should use the feedback received to address any shortcomings or praise and this is becoming more prevalent.  I also realized that reviews – good or bad – assist staff in gauging their level of service, obviously if the feedback is being relayed down to their level.  I know, it sometimes feels like a schlep to do a review after a hearty meal, but in the end it is the only way to express your satisfaction or lack thereof in a proper way.
