Cocked

The Myna is a medium-sized chocolate-brown bird, with a yellow beak, eye patch, feet and legs. The head, throat and tail are black, with the tail having white tips and white undertail feathers. The large white patches in the wings are noticeably visible when the bird is in flight. Myna’s are very noisy birds and are often found in pairs or small groups where they spend a lot of time on the ground feeding. They are omnivorous and feed mainly on fruits, nectar and insects. Myna’s usually roost communally in trees, under bridges and under roof eaves.

The fork-tailed drongo is a medium-sized bird at 25 cm in length, including the tail. The fork-tailed drongo has a mainly glossy black plumage, with the wings being a little duller. This bird has a large head with a hooked black bill and a red eye. The tail is deeply forked. The fork-tailed drongo can be easily mistaken for a southern black flycatcher as the two birds are very similar in appearance, except the drongo has a red eye and the flycatcher has a brown eye.

Misty Cliffs has acquired its name for its, rather obviously, misty cliffs – it overlooks the wild and tempestuous sea, and is renowned not only for incredible days and beautiful beaches but also for windy and wet days, depending on the season. Misty Cliffs is something of a magical little hamlet that is also a conservation village bordering on a nature reserve, a wonderful place to find peace and quiet and a spectacular setting at the best of times.
