Lake Panic in the Kruger National Park, South Africa, is an earthen dam on the Mafunyana Creek (named after one of the nicknames of L B Steyn a Park warden. Literally the word means he who eats greedily. Lake Panic is the name that was given shortly after construction was completed about 1975 when, during a major cloudburst, it was feared that the dam wall would give way.

Storks have large and heavy bills. Their nests are also very large and used year after year. They are mute, but clack their bills as a means of communication, especially at or near the nest. They eat insects, worms, fish, and small mammals. They are related to egrets, herons, ibises, and spoonbills, but not to flamingos.
