“We regret Scotts Cafe in Pilgrimsrest, Mpumalanga, has closed.”
Scotts Cafe, which has been in existence since the Gold Rush days, oozes history from every nook and cranny. Enjoy great food and friendly service and browse through the adjacent shop which sells African crafts, curios and trinkets which make excellent gifts and souvenirs to take back home with you. Try the pancakes which are a speciality at Scott’s. Breakfast pancakes are served with bacon and banana and many other combinations.”

Segaia offers African sunsets and stunning views of a dam on your doorstep – a watering-place where Zebra, Kudu, Impala, warthog and the odd leopard come to drink. Birdlife is prolific, as are large numbers of frogs, both of which treat visitors to their songs. One of the jewels of northern Gauteng, Segaia Bush Retreat offers an escape to the magic of the bush that reminds of areas far more remote. It is the perfect getaway for weary, ‘traffic-jammed’ city dwellers who do not want to spend hours on the road to get to a weekend destination, but require an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity combined with fresh air.

The Drakensberg Mountain Range is one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders, showcasing a selection of the most breath-taking vistas imaginable. It is the highest mountain range in the country, reaching an impressive 3 482 metres above sea level. Its name, Drakensberg, roughly translates to “dragon mountains” or “the mountains of dragons”. And, it’s no wonder that it has earned this name because some of the peaks are mammoth in size and stature. The average height of the range is 2 900 metres.
