Cape Point is home to some of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in the Cape. A large number of people who visit Cape Point do so to use the famous Flying Dutchman Funicular, visit the old lighthouse, or to dine at the Two Oceans Restaurant. And, obviously, to take in the incredible views from the most South Western corner of Africa. But there are several few beaches that are well worth exploring as well. Always exercise caution when venturing into the waters to swim or surf. There are strong currents at Cape Point that make some of these beaches unsuitable for swimmers, and there is no lifeguard on duty, but the beaches make up for it with perfect soft sand and idyllic views perfect for long, reflective walks.

The beach here has a magical air about it and it feels as though you have been whisked away to paradise. This outstanding beach with beautiful sands has a lush green backdrop with three stunning castles set amongst these forest-covered hills. The water is pristine and is safe for paddling, swimming, and kayaking as well as surfing, whether you are a beginner or more experienced. Anglers don’t mind spending hours here admiring the views while waiting for their catch. The opportunity of a romantic picnic or stroll along Noetzie Beach with your loved one shouldn’t be missed.

Escape

When the bush beckons, it’s a wonderful idea to hike one of the three Elephant Hiking Trails. All three routes are a scenic delight with clear streams enticing you to stop, rest, explore and just let the mysterious beauty of the forest seep into your soul. The White Elephant Trail has the most enticing rock pool where you can stop for a picnic and even have a dip in summer. The Black Elephant Trail passes through both the Ysterhoutrug and King Edward VII picnic sites and the Red Elephant Trail crosses a little stream exactly halfway ideal for a lunch stop.
