Robberg Penninsula is a rocky coastal resort just 8km south of Plettenberg Bay. Robberg is a popular hiking area offering 3 circular routes of increasing distance and difficulty with the longest trail taking around 4 – 5 hours. While in the Robberg area one will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of plant species and birdlife, as well as Cape Fur Seals, Dolphins, and Whales. Robberg Nature Reserve is a marine reserve and national monument that looks very similar to a ‘mini’ Cape Peninsula and some of the rocks in the area are said to be over 110 million years old.

Boardwalk

Boardwalk

Garden of Eden forest walk may be short (little more than a path to stretch your legs), but it is through one of the most beautiful examples of Wet Highforest – an unusual kind of forest thick with tall stinkwood, kalander, wit-els, and other moist forest types. It is also old. This particular site where the walk takes place has been open since 1926. The little over 1km walk takes place almost solely on wooden boardwalks that take one across bridges over streams. As a result, this walk is also wheelchair-friendly. The walk has two loops of 500 meters each or one big loop. Just long enough to get in touch with the senses and use the examples of giant moss. lichen, streams, and filtered sunlight to restore journey-tired bodies. There are wooden benches and tables ideal for picnicking.
